The American Bully is a very strong dog for its size. He is very energetic and agile, despite his blocky build. Although it looks rather intimidating and has a quite temperamental disposition, this breed is extremely loyal and gentle. Aggressive behavior towards humans is uncommon and when it occurs it usually indicates a genetic abnormality or medical problem. This breed generally produces very stable, confident and enthusiastic dogs that thrive in a warm home. So he is indeed a real family dog. The dogs can adapt well to city life and to stay in smaller home situations, but just like their peers they need plenty of exercise and challenge. Their temperament and physical strength require a good and consistent upbringing from an early age, in which clearly defining boundaries is important. Their gentle nature requires a soft and pleasant approach. Thus, as with all other races, physical corrections and punishments are unnecessary and even avoidable.
